I am a New York State-licensed mental health counselor (LMHC). I have worked with diverse populations in multiple settings, including at a day program for clients diagnosed with severe and persistent mental health issues, at a college, and at a community mental health clinic, where I also run a weekly meditation group, a weekly PTSD support group, and monthly peer supervision group.

I hold a master's degree from Brooklyn College, two certifications in hypnosis from Center for Integrative Hypnosis and The NLP Center of New York, and a certification to teach yoga, meditation, and pranayama from Integral Yoga Institute (where I have taught since 1999). I wrote the book Yoga to Go: A Take-it-with-You Guide for Travelers (Sterling, 2004). I recently finished postgraduate training at Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy, and hold a certificate of learning in Positive Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

I have received level one and two reiki attunements, and am trained by the New York Center for Nonviolent Communication to run practice groups and teach nonviolent communication skills.

I have a professional background in writing, and I am also a performing musician.
